Jumelage

Né il y a soixante ans le jumelage entre communes européennes a permis de rapprocher les habitants de différents états et de développer le sentiment d’identité européenne. L’Europe des citoyens est un concept abstrait pour la plupart d’entre nous ; il est nécessaire de travailler ensemble, d’agir ensemble pour créer l’Europe du futur. L’Europe doit se concrétiser par des actions créatrices de lien social et culturel. Cormicy a la possibilité de vivre des liens forts avec une commune anglaise, le jumelage avec Kingsclere permettra de développer de nouveaux échanges. Le Comité de jumelage associera les écoles, la jeunesse et les associations dans sa réflexion pour construire un véritable projet de jumelage avec de réelles actions fédératrices.

Pourquoi créer un comité de jumelage ?

Je souhaite que ce projet de jumelage aboutisse pour offrir aux jeunes et aux "moins jeunes" une ouverture sur l’Europe, plus particulièrement la connaissance de la culture anglophone et de la langue anglaise. Et surtout, j’espère qu’il créera de nouveaux liens d’amitié avec notre ville jumelle. Ce jumelage participera à l’ouverture de Cormicy sur le Monde et au dynamisme de sa vie culturelle.

Why form a twinning committee ?

Created sixty years ago, the twinning between European communities has allowed the inhabitants of different countries to come together and to develop the feeling of a European identity. The Europe of citizens is an abstract concept for most of us ; we need to work together, act together to build the future Europe. Europe must be built using the creativity of social and cultural ties. Cormicy has the opportunity to forge strong links with an English community ; twinning with Kingsclere will allow the development of new views. The twinning committee will involve the schools, the young and the associations when considering how to build a real twinning project with real federal acts.

I hope that this twinning project succeeds, to give the young, and not so young, a window on Europe, and more so the knowledge of the English language and English speaking cultures. Above all I hope that it will create a friendship with our twin town. This twinning will contribute to opening up the world to Cormicy and the dynamism of its cultural life.
